Paws Colinas Grand Opening

Paws Colinas Grand Opening Celebration

The Las Colinas Association opened the highly anticipated Paws Colinas Dog Park on Saturday, June 19th with a fun-filled Grand Opening Celebration in partnership with CityVet from 8 am to noon.

To ensure all attendees beat the heat, CityVet hosted a cooling station for humans and pups. The station featured lounge furniture, misting fans and fresh water pools for pups. CityVet Las Colinas’s veterinarian, Dr. Jana Bryant, was at the station to visit with attendees and answer any pet health questions. While pets and owners cooled off they enjoyed live music from DJ LucyeLOU, which could be heard throughout the park.

The event beneficiary, DFW Humane Society, hosted an on-site pet adoption during the celebration. Those unable to adopt were invited to participate in the Sit and Staycation Raffle which directly benefitted the nonprofit. The raffle raised $1,370 for the DFW Humane Society to help animals in need and purchase supplies for the shelter. The staycation prize packages included customized experiences from pet-friendly hotels and Las Colinas businesses:

Attendees had the opportunity to have their four legged pal’s caricature created by artist, Gonzotails. For the ease of pups and owners, Gonzotails took a photo of the pet to use as a reference and sent the owner the custom caricature by email following the event. All caricatures were complimentary.

There were treats for humans and their four legged friends alike. Homegrown Hounds gave away puppuccinos and waffle sticks while the Kitchen 101 food truck sold breakfast faves to curb hunger.

The Paws Colinas Grand Opening Celebration was the kick off to years of pup-approved events at the new dog park.
