The State Fair of Texas may be cancelled this year but we have your guide to fair food and fair fun right here in Las Colinas. Grab the family and enjoy Midway-style fun and fried grub at these Las Colinas businesses and restaurants.
PINSTACK
PINSTACK has rolled out a special menu of fair food to bring the fair to you this year! The menu includes a Dilly Dog, Unicorn Grilled Cheese and fried twinkies. The Dilly Dog is a hot dog stuffed in a pickle and breaded then deep-fried. The Unicorn Grilled Cheese is stuffed with food coloring died cheese to create a rainbow cheese pull, then topped with airheads rainbow candy. Get your reminder of the Midway with all of PINSTACK’s arcade games as well.
Cork & Pig
Channel your inner kid with Cork & Pig’s Fruity Pebbles French Toast. Their house-made bread is dipped in a cinnamon, fruity pebbles egg mixture; cooked until golden brown and then topped with cinnamon ice cream, strawberries and maple syrup.
Creamistry
Creamistry is known for their crazy, colorful ice cream concoctions, but their Unicorn scoop and nitroshake looks like they walked right out of the fair. Their unicorn combination starts with birthday cake ice cream and is filled with mini marshmallows, unicorn dust, marshmallow cream and topped off with whipped cream.
Flossie’s at Omni Las Colinas Hotel
Flossie’s is one of the new dining concepts inside the recently renovated Omni Las Colinas hotel. Their Fruit Loop Pancakes are three pancakes topped with cream cheese frosting, fruit loops, bananas, almonds and whipped cream.
The Green Gator
If you are craving a crazy fried concoction The Green Gator’s Cajun Tamales will hit the spot. They stuff jalapenos with crab meat then they are deep-fried and served with ranch dressing for dipping.
Homegrown Hounds Dog Deli and Bakery
Fido can get in on the fair fun at Homegrown Hounds! They have State Fair themed treats that include a “Corny Dawg” (a turkey and lentils treat shaped like a corny dog) that comes with mustard or ketchup (peanut butter and yogurt “mustard” or “ketchup”) and a funnel cake (peanut butter and pumpkin treat shaped like a funnel cake with coconut flour topping). Pups can also get creative with State Fair themed Paw Paintings.
Jam + Toast
Jam + Toast is known for all it’s fun and innovative toppings for their pancakes, crepes and waffles. Their wackiest creation is Lula’s Crunchy French Toast. They take brioche bread and coat it in rice crispies and then top the french toast with caramel sauce.
Lamberti’s Ristorante and Wine Bar
Lamberti’s fried ravioli are little pillows of comfort. Their breaded and fried ravioli is stuffed with braised beef and served with a parmesan garlic sauce.
Milwaukee Joe’s Ice Cream
One classic fair food is cotton candy and Milwaukee Joe’s has the frozen version perfect for these warm Texas months. Top their cotton candy ice cream with sprinkles for the perfect hint of nostalgia.
Reservoir
Our Las Colinas restaurants love to get creative with cereal and Reservoir’s Captain Crunch Chicken Tenders are another great creation. They’re served with a side of fries and ketchup and honey mustard for dipping.
Stumpy’s Hatchet House
Another way to get your fill of the Midway games is to try out Las Colinas’s social throwdown, Stumpy’s Hatchet House. You can bring in your own food so go grab some fair grub at a local restaurant and bring it in to enjoy while throwing some hatchets.
The Ranch at Las Colinas
It’s not the State Fair without fried Oreos! Try out The Ranch’s fried oreo pie, filled with crushed up Oreos and an Oreo icing filling that will outdo the State Fair’s any day.
Thirsty Lion
Another State Fair staple is a soft pretzel. Thirsty Lion’s oven-baked soft pretzel is the perfect substitute. This giant pretzel is made from scratch and served with beer cheese, jalapeƱo jam and sweet mustard sauce.
Whiskey Cake
You may not be able to have your whole turkey leg this year, but Whiskey Cake’s half a farm bird is a great alternative! Their farm bird is spit-roasted and served over Brussel sprouts with gremolata and a mustard vinaigrette.
