📍 The Art Enthusiast’s Abode
This residence presents a commanding silhouette defined by smooth-coat stucco, cast-stone accents, and a grand portico with slender ionic-inspired columns and an arched transom. Bridging classical Mediterranean Revival and contemporary luxury, the design emphasizes spatial volume and axial alignment within a bright, high-ceilinged interior. A curated palette of cobalt blues, burnt ochres, and emerald textiles enlivens the neutral envelope, while integrated art niches and expansive wall planes allow the home to function as a living gallery. The layout ultimately opens into a dramatic great room, where arched doorways frame the rear landscape and echo the home’s rich, saturated interiors.
“The architecture provides the structure, but the color palette provides the pulse; there is a brilliant tension between the formal, stony permanence of the foyer and the sudden, electric bursts of art that guide you through this wonderful journey of color.” Blane Ladymon AIA RID

📍 The Hilltop Hangout
Positioned on an elevated corner lot, this refined contemporary residence pairs warm brick masonry with articulated volumes and low-sloped rooflines defined by strong horizontal lines. Mature canopy trees and layered landscape walls create privacy while reinforcing the home’s architectural presence. Inside, vaulted ceilings, exposed structural elements, and expansive vertical glazing fill the interiors with soft natural light and frame curated garden views. White oak herringbone flooring, tailored millwork, and stone surfaces complete a modern yet timeless composition that feels both restrained and expressive.
“This home feels like a beautifully composed modern retreat—clean lines, warm brick, soaring ceilings, and incredible natural light all working together in a way that’s both sophisticated and inviting.” Andrew Meckfessel, AIA

This Las Colinas residence is a compelling exploration of horizontal massing and tectonic materiality, defined by its rugged stone masonry and dramatic, vaulted porte-cochère. The interior program utilizes subterranean level changes and soaring cathedral volumes to delineate space, creating a gallery-like sequence that prioritizes sightlines and natural light. Transitioning to the rear, the architecture yields to the topography with a terraced limestone hardscape and a minimalist infinity-edge pool, culminating in a sophisticated dialogue between structural precision and the organic landscape.
“The house has this incredible sense of tectonic weight on the outside, but once you cross the threshold, the architecture completely decompresses into these soaring, light-filled gallery volumes that feel surprisingly intimate.” Andrew Meckfessel, AIA

This sprawling estate at 1700 Nelson Drive embodies European Eclecticism, defined by symmetrical massing, a rich masonry palette, and terracotta barrel tile roofing. Classical elements—including Corinthian columns supporting elevated loggias—lend the façade a sense of grandeur. Inside, a formal Neoclassical interior unfolds around a monumental bifurcated staircase, complemented by ornate millwork, coffered ceilings, and artisanal details such as stained glass accents. Lush, terraced gardens extend the home’s formal elegance outdoors, creating a seamless dialogue between architecture and landscape.
“The home has this incredible theatricality to it; you move from the weight of the stone exterior into this soaring foyer where the symmetry of the staircase and the depth of the coffered ceilings make every entrance feel like an event.” Andrew Meckfessel, AIA

This residence stands as a rigorous exercise in geometric abstraction, defined by a series of intersecting monolithic volumes finished in a deep, matte stucco. This architectural program rejects traditional ornamentation in favor of pure form, utilizing a tri-level sunken interior that transitions fluidly from an elevated piano lounge to an expansive, light-filled living area. Central to the home’s interior identity is a soaring atrium featuring organic, curvilinear light wells and an asymmetrical skylight that washes the white-on-white surfaces in shifting natural light. The design further bridges the gap between structure and landscape through frameless picture windows that frame the views of Las Colinas, while the galley kitchen anchors the space with its matte black cabinetry and a dramatic, single-slab stone island.
“The home rejects traditional ornamentation in favor of pure volume and light; it feels less like a residential structure and more like a private gallery where the architecture itself is the primary collection.” Andrew Meckfessel, AIA
