I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “all bourbons are whiskeys, but not all whiskeys are bourbons.” The same goes for mezcal and tequila. All tequilas are mezcals, but not all mezcals are tequilas. Tequila is a type of mezcal, just like bourbon is a type of whiskey.

DFW Restaurant Week is back for its 22ndyear beginning August 5th. While DFW Restaurant Week ends August 11th, many restaurants are continuing their special menus until Labor Day. Some will even have a preview weekend August 2nd– 4th. During this time, participating restaurants will offer a $39 three-course dinner menu, and some will have $25 two-course lunch menus. A portion of sales will go to the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home for Children. In 2018, DFW Restaurant Week raised a record-setting $800,000 for those charities. Four Las Colinas restaurants are participating this year; Cool River Café, The Ranch at Las Colinas, The Keg Steakhouse and Bar, and Boi Na Braza. We have acquired the exclusive lunch and dinner menus from each restaurant! Discover how you can experience DFW Restaurant week in Las Colinas.

Garlic has been used as a spice for centuries, but some ancient cultures believed garlic had “magic” and healing powers. Central European folklore suggests that garlic could ward off werewolves, demons, and vampires. Let’s be honest, if you eat enough garlic your breath could ward off anyone! National Garlic day is April 19th, and we decided to celebrate by treating the LCA staff to garlic infused dishes. Who doesn’t love garlic!? We made garlic parmesan tomatoes and garlic dipping oil. In honor of National Garlic Day, I will take you through the recipes, include our tips and tricks, and reveal the staff’s favorite.
National pancake day is March 5th and since pancakes are one of my favorite foods, I have to celebrate! I could eat pancakes for just about every meal, but since that would be a little excessive, I decided to spend the weekend finding the best places to get my pancake fix in Las Colinas.
National Margarita Day is Friday, February 22nd and what better excuse to sip on a “rita” than that?! I will introduce you to the Barrel Select Margarita, the Devil’s Margarita, and a secret menu item.
Like most millennials, I am obsessed with my dog, Sasha. She is a 12-year-old Border Collie that we have spoiled so much she thinks she’s a person. I show photos of her to people and dote on her as if she is my child. I’ve been told that I have more professional photos of my dog than most people do of themselves. Hazards of being a photographer for a living, I guess?
Four Seasons Markets’ Las Colinas Farmers Market is not your typical Famers Market. At the Las Colinas Farmers Market, you can find handmade jewelry, artisan olives, balsamic vinegar imported from Spain, and traditional Hungarian “Whirly Cakes”; in addition to fresh produce and organic meats. Who would have thought all these great vendors would have fit in Lamberti’s parking lot?
I love watching sports but sometimes sitting on my couch at home just doesn’t cut it. It’s not the same atmosphere as being around my fellow fans cheering on my favorite team. Because of this, I set out to find a great place in Las Colinas to catch the Cowboys game.
Avocados; a millennial’s dream and America’s favorite superfood.
This Baylor bear decided to find out by attending classes at the new We Yogis – Las Colinas at 5240 North O’Connor Blvd., #166. I went into this experience with some basic knowledge of yoga but in no way am I a seasoned yogi. I can do a mean downward dog and a warrior pose but don’t ask me to balance on my elbows, my head, or anything like that. As a twenty-something fresh out of college and new to the professional world I am always up for a challenge and ways to relieve stress, making We Yogis the perfect opportunity for both!
