After a long four months, baseball is back! Major League Baseball’s Opening Day is Thursday, July 23rd, but the Texas favorites the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros won’t have their first games until Friday, July 24th. Even though you can’t go have a hot dog in the stands at the new stadium there are several places in Las Colinas that provide a great opening day game, or any game, experience.

Bar Louie

Craving that salty ballpark soft pretzel? Bar Louie’s Bavarian pretzel twists are even better. They are served warm and salted with a side of cheese sauce and jalapeƱo honey mustard for dipping. If you’re still hungry after that melt in your mouth goodness, their menu features an extensive list of burgers and other delectable items. Their restaurant is equipped with several big screens to watch the game on and ample patio space for social distancing. Bar Louie is available for delivery, dine-in and takeout.

Green Gator

Add some Cajun flair to your Opening Day celebration by going to the Green Gator! Their nachos and cheese fries will make the ballpark versions look unsatisfactory in comparison. Their whole back wall is one large TV and several flat screens are placed around the dining room so you won’t have a bad seat in the house! Spirit Grille

Las Colinas’s quintessential neighborhood bar, Spirit Grille, is another grand place to watch the action Friday night. They have been in Las Colinas for over two decades and know how to keep customers coming back. Their menu features six different kinds of burgers along with salads, sandwiches, pork chops and steaks. The Ranch

For and upscale Opening Day location, check out The Ranch and their signature rustic decor. Their food and bar menu is all locally sourced from Texas vendors so you can support local while watching your hometown team. Their mini elk tacos are a luxurious, unique change from the usual beef or chicken. The Ranch is open for dine-in, takeout and delivery.

Walk On’s

You may not be able to enjoy Blue Bell Ice Cream Sundays at the ballpark, but you can satisfy that sweet tooth at Walk On’s with their salted caramel and cookies and cream milkshakes. With 70 plus TVs and a plethora of sports decor and memorabilia, Walk On’s is the perfect locale for watching Opening Day. Their menu features lots of game-day fare, perfect for even the pickiest of eaters. Walk On’s is open for dine-in, delivery and takeout.
